The Medical Hub @ RMIT is a mixed billing practice.

Bulk billing for eligible Medicare card holders is available to:

  • Currently enrolled RMIT students,
  • Children aged 15 years and under,

Direct Billing to OSHC insurers is available to:

  • Currently enrolled RMIT students with Medibank OSHC Insurance
  • Currently enrolled RMIT students with AHM OSHC Insurance

RMIT students with OSHC insurance not listed above will not attract an out of pocket fee and will be required to pay the rebate on the day of consultation and personally claim the full refund.

RMIT Students must bring their RMIT student card to every appointment for eligibility purposes only.

A minimum of 2 hours notice is required to cancel/reschedule an appointment without triggering a fee of between $60-$90. This can be done via email or phone.

Eligibility for Medicare-funded Telehealth has been amended and is now limited to existing patients who have been seen face-to-face by a Medical Hub @ RMIT doctor in the last 12 months. A Medicare rebate DOES NOT apply for new patients to the practice or those who have previously only had Telehealth consultations.

• Discounted fee is available for Concession and Pension Card holders.
• RMIT Staff are now privately billed.
• Children under 16 years of age will be bulkbilled.

Procedures

IUD and Implanon procedures are currently bulk billed for all Medicare card holders.

Patients without a Medicare card, including many international students, are required to pay the applicable private fee. Please see the fees below.

Additional Costs

Procedure fees do not include the cost of any prescribed devices or medications that need to be purchased separately from a pharmacy.

An additional $20 treatment room fee may also apply.

 

Please Note

The fees listed above are a guide and are based on the standard appointment time for each procedure. Longer or more complex appointments may incur a higher upfront fee. In most cases, the out-of-pocket cost will remain the same due to a higher Medicare rebate.
